In April, 2018, at age 65, I twisted my right ankle which resulted in a foot stress fracture and a 25% tear of the peroneus brevis tendon. I received physical therapy for the injury. But the pain continued, with the tear causing more trouble than the fracture. In December, 2019, with the pain still persisting, I agreed to a platelet rich plasma injection for the tendon tear that Dr. Bader Iqbal had brought up as a possible treatment option several times.
The injection into my foot was not bad at all. A month later, I would have said the injection was maybe working, maybe not – it hurt some times, but not always. Now, 5 months after the injection, I’m sure that the tear has healed as it is causing no pain and no problems at all.
I’m sorry that I waited so long for the platelet rich plasma injection, because it worked very well for me. Thanks, Dr. Iqbal.
